Oh sweet little Madelynn, she came to visit me at just 11 days new, and was the sweetest thing. You may recognize mom, dad and big brother from my last blog post 😉 Madelyn did so well for photos, and I captured so much cuteness. I loved when I was posing her with mom and dad was whispering “Oh my, that is adorable” “That is going to be such a cute picture” – it’s so sweet to see dad’s get involved 🙂 Here are some favorites from my session with Madelynn.
I get really excited when a client wants to book me for maternity photos. For some reason, I don’t shoot a lot of maternity, and I’m not sure if it’s something people don’t splurge on as much, or maybe they don’t feel confident in the way they feel or look, I’m not sure, but capturing this time in a families life is so important I feel. One day your babies will love to look through a photo album and see photos of their momma pregnant with them. I know I wish I had more photos of my mom when pregnant with me. It’s such a special time in life – and one that I love to document.
Maternity sessions are truly one of my favorites to capture and I hope I get to do more of them in 2015! Ray and Rebecca’s maternity session was my favorite to date….and big brother Benjamin did so well and was so excited about his little sister on the way! Rebecca you were just GLOWING! So beautiful. When my dear friend Rachel asked me to photograph her family, at their home, on their own land, my answer was an easy yes please!!! The old barn made for super fun photos, and there’s just something extra special about capturing family memories at the place they call home. I absolutely loved their session, and the kids couldn’t have looked any cuter. I sure love my job, it’s the best! Take a look…
A dear friend of mine lives out in California and I was there this past October to visit, and of course told her I wanted to do photos of her and her babies. It’s rare I see her IN any photos with her kids, and well, I was determined to change that! 🙂 She’s an amazing momma, and I wanted to capture all of that awesomeness! Leslie and Erik are due with baby #5 in just a couple weeks, and I can’t wait to visit again soon and meet the new addition. In the meantime, here are some photos I captured during my visit. I started out with a few sweet lifestyle photos in their home – and then we went out for some outdoor pics of the kids. I just adore these photos, her kiddos are the cutest! 
I have to say, I have never been more proud of my work, than I am with these images. Birth photography is intense. You have to have an eye for shots and angles for photos, be on top of your game and ready, and be very patient 🙂 This is the second birth I photographed, and wow, it was just as amazing to experience as the first. I truly am in love with these photos, and love telling Claire’s birth story through these images. It’s such a special and emotional day for everyone involved, and I felt so honored once again to be asked to share in such an intimate time. Welcome to the world baby Claire, you are beyond beautiful. Congrats again to the happy parents, Brandon and Lindsay, and to big sister Vaida! Enjoy!
